Our Story
A community that takes care of its own.
The Macholo Multipurpose Centre was born from a simple belief: that every person in this community deserves access to food, knowledge, healthcare, and opportunity — regardless of their circumstances.
We started with a vision of a community that takes care of its own. Today, we are a registered Public Benefit Organisation operating across seven community programmes, serving hundreds of residents every week in Thabong, Welkom, and surrounding host communities.
Our name — Macholo — reflects the spirit of this place and the people it belongs to. We are not a government agency. We are not a distant charity. We are your neighbours, your community, and your partners in a better Free State.

To provide accessible, dignified community services that relieve poverty, develop skills, and restore hope to the people of Thabong and the greater Welkom area.

Morena Demice Macholo is a social entrepreneur and community development leader committed to advancing youth empowerment, poverty alleviation, and sustainable socio-economic development across the Free State.
As Founder and Board Chairperson of Macholo Multipurpose Centre (MMC), he serves as the organization's Authorized Representative and Information Officer (POPIA Reg No: 2026-005043), overseeing corporate partnerships, donor engagement, and funding agreements.
Under his leadership, MMC has become a fully compliant, trusted partner for Corporate Social Investment (CSI), offering:

- •Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor (135% Procurement Recognition), supporting corporate Socio-Economic Development (SED) objectives.
